The Olympic flame has been extinguished, bringing down the curtain on the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, but the passion still lingers from the sports gala that has enlivened and inspired the world amid the pandemic.

After all 109 medal events were decided, the closing ceremony was held on Sunday at the National Stadium in Beijing.

Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, lauded the Beijing Winter Olympics as "truly exceptional" when addressing the closing ceremony Sunday night.

国际奥委会主席托马斯?巴赫宣布致辞，称誉这是一届"真实无与伦比的"冬奥会。

"The Olympic spirit could only shine so brightly, because the Chinese people set the stage in such an excellent way - and in a safe way," Bach said. "The Olympic Villages were outstanding. The venues - magnificent. The organization -extraordinary... This unforgettable experience was only possible because of our gracious hosts, the Chinese people," he added.

巴赫说shanshan："奥林匹克精力之所以闪烁，由于我国人民搭建了一个超卓而安全的奥运舞台。冬奥村匠心独运，场馆令人拍案叫绝，组织工作特殊杰出。……咱们之所以有北京冬奥会的难忘阅历，要归功于热情好客的东道主整体我国人民。"

>China ships 26.32M 5G phones in January

Shipments of 5G phones in China went down 3.5 percent year-on-year to over 26.32 million units in January this year, data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology showed. The volume accounted for 79.7 percent of the country's total mobile phone shipments during the period according to the research institute.

工信部部属研究机构我国信通院发布的数据显现，2022年1月国内市场5G手机出货量2632.4万部，同比下降3.5%，占同期手机出货量的79.7%。

In January, a total of 15 newly released mobile phone models were 5G phones, accounting for 50 percent of all newly released handset models.

在上市新机型方面，2022年1月，国内市场手机上市新机型30款，其间5G手机15款，占同期手机上市新机型数量的50%。

The data showed China shipped 266 million units of 5G phones in 2021, surging 63.5 percent from 2020.

2021年，国内市场5G手机出货量2.66亿部，同比增加63.5%。

During its bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics, China made a commitment to the international community to "engage 300 million people in ice and snow activities", and recent statistics showed the country has achieved this goal.

在申办2022冬奥会过程中，我国曾向国际社会作出“带动三亿人参加冰雪运动”的许诺。最近的数据显现，我国现已完成了这个方针。

The successful efforts to involve more than 300 million Chinese people in snow and ice activities is the most significant legacy of the Beijing Winter Olympics to global winter sports and the Olympic movement, an official with the nation's top sports authority said.

国家体育总局官员表明，我国成功完成带动三亿我国人参加冰雪运动的方针，是北京冬奥会给予全球冬季运动和奥林匹克运动最重要的遗产。

The country has also greatly boosted investment in winter sports infrastructure, equipment manufacturing, tourism and education.

我国还大大增加了对冰雪运动基础设施、配备制作、冰雪旅行和冰雪运动教育的投入。

The data showed China now has 654 standard ice rinks, and 803 indoor and outdoor ski resorts.

数据显现，现在全国已有654块规范冰场和803个室表里各类滑雪场。

The number of snow and ice leisure tourism trips in the 2020-21 season reached 230 million, generating over 390 billion yuan in income.

2021-2022雪季我国冰雪休闲旅行人次达到了2.3亿人次，冰雪休闲旅行收入超过了3900亿元。

Queen Elizabeth II has tested positive for COVID-19 just days before an anticipated lifting of all pandemic restrictions in England.

英国王室2月20日宣布声明说，英国女王伊丽莎白二世新冠病毒检测成果呈阳性。

The monarch, who is 95 years old, is experiencing "mild cold-like symptoms" but is expected to continue "light duties" at Windsor Castle during the coming week, Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Sunday.
